Mortar board, inc.

Mortar Board, Inc., founded in 1918, is a national honor society that recognizes college seniors for their achievements in scholarship, leadership, and service.

Mortar Board, Inc. provides opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities, and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community. Fisk University’s Gold Key Chapter was installed in 1975 and became the first Mortar Board Chapter at a predominantly Black institution.

To be eligible for membership, the student must be a junior, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and possess leadership potential.
