ENG 290 WORLD LITERATURE

A one-semester course which introduces students to works from oral traditions and writings from around the globe, including Biblical literature, poetry, drama, fiction, and essays. Works are selected to expose students to cultural contexts of Africa, Asia, Europe, and North and South America, as well as texts and authors that are touchstones of global humanities study. Students are required to develop a literary vocabulary as well as experience with different approaches to literature to assist in their analytical and critical oral and written responses.
