PHYS 117 PHYSICS FOR THE LIFE SCIENCES I
Alternative to PHYS 130 for BMB and Biology majors, students interested in a Biophysics minor or applications of physics to the life sciences. Introduction to mechanics, diffusion, radioactive decay, drug elimination, energy, chemical potentials, osmosis, and biomechanics. Finite difference methods are used to introduce calculus concepts. Three lectures weekly.

MATH 110 or departmental permission.
