SW 486 SOCIAL WORK FIELD EXPERIENCE AND SEMINAR II
The Social Work Field Experience II is taken by students during the Spring Semester of their senior year. The field internship experience provides an opportunity for students to practice advance generalist application of knowledge, values, and skills under the supervision of a professional social worker in an agency that provides services to individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities. Students will be required to do their field internship at the same agency for the Fall and Spring Semester on Tuesday and Thursday for a minimum of 220 clock hours per semester. This course also integrates a weekly seminar to give students the opportunity to actively reflect on knowledge, skills, theoretical approaches, clients, and agency experience. The Seminar will also allow students to share their learning experience from their agency placement and to demonstrate skill competencies through a series of integrated class assignments such as reflective discussions, assignments, role-plays, and activities. The field experience seminar will be facilitated by a social work faculty.
