HIS 360 MODERN WORLD HISTORY
This is a one-semester upper-level History Major seminar which allows students to address the major trends and themes in the history of the modern world from the late eighteenth century to the present. This course contributes to the revitalization of the History Major by allowing students to engage with cutting-edge methodologies and conceptualizations of world history. While CORE 360 prepares students for life as informed citizens in a multicultural global world by presenting an overview of human history, this course provides History majors and other students with a deeper engagement with methodologies and theories for understanding economic, social, and cultural trends over the past three centuries that have shaped the modern day. The course emphasizes critical thinking, analytical writing, and the presentation of ideas in a seminar setting.
